Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an international humanitarian NGO. For over thirty years it has been implementing Food Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Otuke, Gulu, Amuru, Nwoya, Kaabong, Napak and Moroto Districts.
Country Director Assistant
ACF is looking for a Country Director Assistant based in Kampala (with frequent travel to field locations). The person will be under the direct supervision of the ACF Uganda Country
Director and may represent him during his absence.Responsibilities:
- Support the Country Director in external representa-tion (government, UN agencies, NGOs)
- Support the Country Director in reporting obligations towards the government and internally
- Support the Country Director in monitoring analyzing and reporting on the Ugandan context.
- Support Country Director in animating and following up with the NGO staff
Job requirement
Academic Qualifications:
Undergraduate/graduate Degree in social science field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of meaningful professional experience, especially in NGO.
- Field experience at ground level.
- Experience in project design (donor proposals) and reporting.
Specific Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer skills: MS Office, internet, editing skills should be excellent.
- Excellent coordination skills to facilitate inter-agency/ departmental collaboration.
- Professional drafting skills, ability to publish and prepare documents.
- Ability to multitask and meet stringent, tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Excellent understanding of ACF's charter, mandate and programs.
- Demonstrated background and understanding of socio-political context of Uganda.
- Demonstrated knowledge of internal ACF reporting guidelines.
- Ability to capitalize on knowledge and lessons learned and input them into future work.
