Gumutindo Coffee Co-operative Enterprise Society Managers Jobs in Uganda


Preamble
Gumutindo Coffee Co-operative Enterprise Ltd is a Fair - trade and Organic Certified small farmer co-operative Ltd that exports coffee to mostly Europe and the United States of America. The Cooperative boasts of 11 primary societies and more than 7,000 farmers as members of the cooperative who produce excellent quality coffee on the slopes of Mount Elgon. The day-to-day management of the trading affairs of the Cooperative is delegated to a workers company called Gumutindo Management Agency Ltd.

Gumutindo Management Agency is looking for suitable candidates to work as Society
Managers at five Primary Societies.

The Society Manager will do the following:

  • Act as the administrative head of the Primary Society.
  • Liaise with the organisation’s head office in ensuring that all the required logistics of buying coffee are put in place.
  • Will act, on the behalf of the committee, as the custodian of the Societies properties.
  • Will be responsible for jotting minutes of the society meetings and filling them in an orderly manner.
  • Will advise the society committee on matters concerning the businesses of the society.
  • Supervise the purchase of coffee from farmers and other coffee related activities.
  • Will be responsible for keeping an up do-date register of members of the society
  • Prepare transparent records of all payments made to the society and/or farmers.
  • Liaise with the Accountant of Gumutindo in ensuring that all the monies of the society are properly accounted for.
  • Liaise with the certifications department of Gumutindo in ensuring that the Internal and External inspections for both certifications are carried out smoothly at the primary society.
  • Liaise with the certification department in ensuring that the organisation’s Internal Control System is working.
  • Other coffee related activities that may be assigned to him from time to time

Qualifications.

  • A degree from a recognised university is the minimum requirement. A degree in agricultural economics and fluency in Lumasaba will be added advantages. 
  • The candidate should be prepared to live in the upcountry and therefore should have the ability to converse and interact freely with the rural people
