The Board of Directors of Uganda National Roads Authority invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following positions based on the specifications indicated below:
Position Title: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Scope of the position:
The holder of this position will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all UNRA industrial / domestic electrical installations which include but are not limited to stand by electrical generator sets, weighbridge systems, street lighting & control, refrigeration
and Air condition systemPosition relationships:
- Reports to Mechanical Services Manager
- Liaises with various UNRA staff Managers and Engineers) for the smooth running and maintenance of UNRA electrical/electronic installations.
- Supervise the Electrical Technician
Key duties & responsibilities:
- Plans for operation and maintenance of UNRA industrial/ domestic electric/ electronic installations.
- Prepares a yearly procurement plan for electric/ electronic installations.
- Prepares a yearly work plan with its budget.
- Supervises maintenance activities of UNRA electric installation.
- Procures electric equipment and accessories for the smooth running of UNRA electronic installations.
- Prepares and submits relevant reports.
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Mechanical Services Manager
Job requirement
Person specification
- The applicant t must be a qualified Electrical Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent plus:
- Five years working experience in industrial /domestic electrical installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of electronic control system.
- Knowledge of electro- mechanical switch gear control systems.
- Knowledge of Industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Membership of relevant professional institutions will be an added advantage.
- Age- below 45 years
