A dream literally took off today when Qatar Airways invited 100 children on a specially organised flight over Qatar. The joint initiative was aimed at bringing fun and joy into the lives of children - many from the Qatar Orphan Foundation "Dhreima" - and to contribute to the organisation's activity programme set up to entertain the kids over the summer holidays. In line with the airline's corporate social responsibility programme "The Oryx Flies Green", the 20-minute flight took the children, their aides and local media on a journey over the State of Qatar. Most of the children, aged between 5 and 16 years, have never flown before, resulting in an air of excitement and anticipation as the crowds gathered at Doha International Airport for the special Airbus A321 flight. Welcomed by Qatar Airways' Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker, who joined the flight with Dhreima's General Director Khaled Kamal, the children were left with a great moment to treasure. Over 100 Qatar Airways staff participated in the 9th National Green & Clean Qatar Campaign jointly organized by Qatar Airways and the Ministry of Municipality & Urban Planning. As part of the wide-ranging Qatar Airways Corporate Social Responsibility Program “The Oryx Flies Green”, staff members of all departments helped to clean up Al Whakra Beach which is located 12 kilometers South of Doha. During the 3 hours exercise over 50 bags of waste have been collected.

Finance Assistant FN/EBB/02/11
- To support in verification and accounting of invoices, payments, sales, refunds, deposits and claims in line with QR Policies and IAP's.
- Preparation and accounting of journal vouchers as per IAP
- Applicants must be Commerce graduates from reputable university with total accounting experience of 2 years with preferably 1 yer in airlines, User level experience in any ERP, good working experience on spreadsheets, good in either expenditure or revenue accounting.
Finance Manager FN/EBB/01/11
- Manage the business finance functions at the station to provide support to all budget holders.
- Ensure monthly closing as per target dates.
- Co-ordinate on financial and business matters as well as deliver monthly reports to various units at HQ and station.
- Ensure that QR financial policies and IAPs are strictly adhered to by all budget holders at the station.
- Applicants must be Commerce Graduates from reputable university , holders of professional accounting certificate like CA/ CPA / ACCA / CIMA / ICWA. MBA will be and added advantage.
- Minimum Accounting experience of 8 years in airlines with at least 2 years in a similar sector.
